About Us

Hi! We’re Daniel and JoDell. We LOVE pickleball. Anyone can play, the community is welcoming, and it’s just so. damn. fun. No wonder the game is growing so fast!

But there was one gap for us—the apparel. 

Daniel is a brilliant designer and is obsessed with branding. As he searched for pickleball-branded clothing, he couldn't find anything that rivaled the aesthetic of other major sports. 

Christmas 2020, Daniel was traveling to see family, and started toying with the idea of creating his own apparel brand. As a wordsmith, he wanted to come up with a unique name. He ran through all the pickleball terms in his head, and 002 popped into his mind. He pulled over on the side of the road, grabbed a napkin out of his glove box, and wrote ZER002. And with that, this brand was born. 

Meanwhile, JoDell was on the lookout for a great business idea where she could combine her passion for social innovation with her entrepreneurial skill set. In the fall of 2021, JoDell started playing pickleball, and she quickly saw that ZER002 fit the bill. She pitched her vision to Daniel, and their business partnership was born. 

As we’ve talked about what we want to build, we keep coming back to the needs that pickleball fills for us: connection, play, collaboration, movement, and our favorite, community. This is why we’re building this brand. And we’re really excited that you’re taking this journey with us.
